Really depends who you ask. You will find drastically different answers depending on the source. In the UK, E-cigarettes equal harm reduction for smokers. In the US, E-Cigarettes equal Cigarettes despite the absolute lack of evidence towards that conclusion. In both countries, cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death.

Lastly, a news article reports on a tragic incident in San Diego California where two teenagers from Southern California have been arrested in connection with the murders of two young men during a meeting involving the illegal sale of vape products.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department made the arrests, with a 15-year-old boy being apprehended in Oceanside and a 17-year-old in Riverside. The victims, who were friends, were found with gunshot wounds in San Marcos. One of them died on the night of the incident, while the other passed away the following day. The investigation suggests that the suspects and victims did not know each other personally but met for the purpose of an illegal vape product sale. The specific motivation and circumstances are still being investigated. The article also mentions that the legality of the vape products involved, whether tobacco- or THC-based, has not been determined. The sale of tobacco to individuals under 21 is illegal in California, and voters approved a ban on flavored cigarettes and vaping cartridges to restrict their access by teenagers. However, possession of such products is not a crime.
